New Beginning
Some of you know that my family and I relocated out of the U.S. in 2025, where I’d lived and built my life for 16 years. The house I built with my husband and his father where my kids grew up. The plants I planted and never had a chance to eat its fruits (this is because my hand is opposite from green). The trails we made when we had lock down during Covid era that we walked everyday with our goats. The pond I swam, kayak, ice skating. My tiny shrine in our timber I made that we visited every New Year day as our ritual. Cherry blossom tree we planted on our wedding day with our families, and close friends where every spring we did picnics under. I miss them all so much. I would love to share all that someday here in bits of pieces, because it is where I left a part of me.
However, at first we shall celebrate a new beginning.
2025 was a year of searching. After we reunite with my husband in March, we search search searched for place we could call home again while we stayed at my parents house. We knew vacant houses were becoming common in Japan. And I had a dream of having Engawa in the house. Of course our aim is a cool old traditional Japanese house. That matched well with the notion that I really enjoyed living in country side full of nature. So we looked different country sides of somewhat close range from my parents house, and eventually decided on Tamba area. To be honest, most of the houses we looked at, I was in love, and everywhere we looked at scenery were gorgeous, people were welcoming. But photo is the place that concreted our decision. This area is near the place where they found whole body of dinosaur in Japan. The layer called Sasayama-sou exposed on the river.
After more than a year staying away from social media for the most of the part, I’m excited to share my life in Japan, place I love, what I’m working on, my little thoughts and interests, exhibition news, and shop updates (still have long ways to go though) to you, my friends. I would love if you would leave comments for me, so it’s not oneway from me❤️.
